Innovative Big Data Application Optimizes Lead Conversions, built on the Google Cloud Platform.
In the era of Big Data, many enterprise executives are struggling with the sheer volume of available data and how to transform all that information into intelligence they can use to make the best business decisions. Typically, they try to determine exactly what data is available and then apply it to a specific question or problem. The underlying concept of AbsolutData’s decision-engineering approach is to first identify specific decisions the enterprise must make and then work backward, using data and analytics to optimize every aspect of the project. For example, applying decision engineering to lead conversion enables enterprise executives to use data and analytics not only to identify consumers but also to optimize, in real time, the channels, marketing messages and even product features that influence these consumers’ purchasing decisions.

To drive the decision-engineering model, ThirdEye and AbsolutData needed to identify the appropriate conversion-optimization platform, specifically one that would help Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies convert free users into paid subscribers. The platform had to be capable of using analytical algorithms, developed as dove-tailed MapReduce programs, which allow enterprise users to leverage insights from various decision metrics to make business decisions. In addition, the platform had to feature a reliable infrastructure that provided enough compute power to manage the various MapReduce computations while also scaling easily to meet fluctuating business demand.
ThirdEye selected for AbsolutData the Google Cloud Platform, with its Google Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Datastore, and Cloud Dataflow capabilities, as the ideal infrastructure to support the demands of the NAVIK Converter.

Before launching the NAVIK Converter, AbsolutData tested the application with two SaaS providers. The NAVIK Converter enabled HighTail, a cloud storage company to increase by 30 % its free-to-paid conversion rate while making it possible for an online genealogy company to increase by 5% its bill-through rate on free trial signups by 5%.
